I suppose it’s not really that surprising that growing up and being surrounded with beautiful images of your happy family in a loving home has the ability to make your childhood happier and more wholesome. Studies have shown that children who see themselves in photographs have an increased awareness of their worth in the family as well as a heightened sense of belonging.

Who among us cannot say that seeing a childhood photo doesn’t fill you full of that warm, fuzzy, sugar-fueled happiness. Mum and Dad looking young and radiant even despite their obviously terrible fashion choices! Thank god the 70s are over!

Even though Robbie and I are professional photographers, we’ve got photos of our kids everywhere, whether they’re taken on our pro equipment or the first phone we bought that had a camera!! They cover the walls, our fridge, every part of the wall up the staircases I could reach to knock in a nail to hang a frame. We’re so proud of all of them and we hope they know it.

Who knows, one day these photos will be hung in our grandchildren’s houses, or perhaps lovingly cradled in one of their arms, reminiscing about the “Good Old Days”…..   My thought for you……… ‘THESE’ are the good old days for your children and then their children, make sure you take the time to record them.
